If you’ve ever dreamed of designing a recycling bin dedicated to
Pink Flamingo, Cry Baby, Female Trouble, Hairspray...here’s your
opportunity.TRASHed and Virgin Festival are signing 17 artists to submit
96 gallon redesigned recycling bins honoring each classic John Waters
film. Virgin Festival this year takes place in John Water’s hometown
– Baltimore, MD on September 23, 2006. What better way to honor
this visionary filmmaker.The entire collection of John Waters themed recycling
bins will be interactive. When you’re not checking out the artwork,
you can catch performances by the The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls
Barkley, The Flaming Lips, The Killers, Thievery Corporation, Scissor
Sisters + more. All artists must use 96 gallon plastic recycling bins (w/wheels) as the
starting point for their piece. Participating artists will receive 2 tickets
and VIP wristbands to the Virgin Festival. All artwork/artists will be
featured on the Virgin Festival/Global Inheritance websites and exhibited
on the grounds during the festival. Interested artists must submit their concept and samples of their work
to virgin@globalinheritance.org
byAugust 26, 2006 to be considered. Final artwork will be donated to a TBD institution in the city of Baltimore

5/1/06 :: TRASHed Again – Coachella 2006
TRASHed represented at Coachella this year with 35 recycling/trash
stations around the main festival grounds and back stage. Each station
was equipped with signage directing people to the trash or recycling bins.
The recycling bins were designed by talented artists up+down the west
coast while the trash were left blank. Many thanks to our all recycling
bin artists Antonio Cabral, Erik Siador, Downtimer, Demonbabbies,

:: Sundance 2006 - Park City, UtahAction Sport Lifestyle Network, FUEL TV, hosted a blazing Chalet to screen films from their FUEL TV Experiment and entertain the film world. FUEL TV invited Global Inheritance to join the event and develop awareness for some of today’s most important issues.Global Inheritance hosted a T-Shirt Gallery featuring shirts by non-profit organizations Keep-A-Breast, Project Hello, TRASHed and Epilepsy Foundation. Jason Piemeisel’s t-shirt design promoting the Epilepsy Foundation took top honors along with some sweet prizes. Outside of the T-Shirts, TRASHed hosted a recycling bin exhibit featuring original bin designs by Hunter S Thompson, George Thompson (RVCA), Pinky (Lost), Steven Lopez and Jens. ![]() TRASHed also provided live recycling bin and 2 liter bottle paintings by a strong concoction of artists including Mark The Cobrasnake, Rene Garcia Jr, Josh Scheuerman and Mark X Farina.Keep-A-Breast held a silent auction featuring breast casts painted by My Chemical Romance, Alkaline Trio + more. Project Hello outfitted each house bathroom with wall to wall photos while Epilepsy Foundation of greater Los Angeles displayed info boards in the main room and filmed celebrities endorsing epilepsy education. Thanks again to everyone at FUEL TV, the non-profit organizations, the artists and the other players involved. |

6/2/05TRASHed on the steps of San Francisco's City hall. The United Nations World Environment Day 2005 and California Tomorrow Festival took place on June 2nd, 2005. The TRASHed campaign supported this historical day with a recycling bin art exhibit and recycling store program. Thousands of schools kids who recycled on-site were rewarded with cool gear from Loomstate, Midway Games, CD's, DVD's and more. Loads of great companies were displaying the newest innovations in cutting edge green technology highlighting the diverse emerging fuel sources now available to the world: hydrogen fuel, solar power, wind power, biofuels, geothermal energy, hydropower, people power alternative fuel vehicles and green architecture. :: view gallery |
| 5/20/05 Fashion Peace invited to participate @ the United Nation's World Environment Day.From June 1st to June 5th, Mayors from the largest cities on the planet, governors, business leaders, and experts in environmental technology will convene in San Francisco for United Nation’s World Environment Day (WED) 2005. WED 2005 will culminate in the signing of the Urban Environmental Accords, with U.N. Secretary General, Kofi Annan. Global Inheritance will be running a recycling center onsite that will reward people for recycling their water bottles and cans along with showcasing artwork from the recent Art of Recycling tour. | Getting TRASHed on the Mountains
of Aspen TRASHed hit the slopes January 29th - February 2nd, 2005 with ESPN to run the Art of Recycling Winter X Games Nine in Aspen, Colorado. TRASHed, a campaign developed and executed by Fashion Peace, hosted a media reception and open exhibit for the public with the 10 original pieces of art designed on 96 gallon recycling recycling bins The prestigious crew of artists included Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, Pro Snowboarder Tricia Byrnes and RVCA's own George Thompson. The crew was headlined by Hunter S Thompson himself. Sadly, Mr Thompson pasted away a few week later... but his spirit and creativity will be long remembered. | Fashion Designers In The POOL
Support Recycling TRASHed challenged today's top designers with an competition to design the coolest Recycling Bin in the land February 14 -17, 2005 at the POOL Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prizes includes future Booth Spaces at the POOL TRADE SHOW, Hotels Rooms, Magazines Ads and Coachella Tickets.
