We are nearing the final days of what feels like the longest 12 months ofour life! In any normal December, our end of year highlight reel would feature crowds of smiling young people at live events and festivals engaging with Global Inheritance programs, learning new information about improving the planet and the ecosystems that sustain us all.The key lesson of2020 is that big changes can happen quickly. For the majority of us, learning this lesson wasn't a great experience – but it might turn out to be the most impactful year of our lives. The world is different. Our work is different, our schools are different, and how we interact with each other is different. This whirlwind of difference brings with it the potential for very positive outcomes.Despite the fear and uncertainty, I believe the world became more human this year.Keeping up with the Jones' is in the past, replaced by investment in friends, family, and loved ones. Substance over style - innovation instead of repetition. The world can still be a more open and kind environment for every type of person - in fact, it must be.As a live event based non-profit, powered by incredible volunteers and interns, 2020 felt like waiting to hear the starting pistol that never fired - stuck in the blocks, ready to run. But we were not sitting idle, we were introspective about ourselves, our organization, and our mission. We prepared to meet the post-pandemic era with our shoes laced up, ready to sprint when the moment arrives.I wish we knew what to expect in 2021. I am personally ecstatic that we have new national leadership that cares about our environment. It's a small but vital gift as we head into the new year. The future remains uncertain, but our intentions for the future are clear.Wishing you good health, success, and the opportunity to do great things in the new year.
Sincerely,Global Inheritance 💚
