Since the beginning of the pandemic, Global Inheritance has beenpromoting its new online programMovie Club which has covered various themes including the plastic pandemic, what we eat, consumerism, nature, and racial justice. Here's a recap of some of the things we've learned which will help you have a more planet-friendly holiday.1. Face masks may be in, but single-use plastics are still out. Make sure the face mask you are carrying is of the washable and reusable variety.2. Thrift for your outdoor equipment and clothing. Give items a second life and a new adventure, all whilst getting yourself more bang for your buck.3. Buy local firewood. Invasive species can hide in firewood and you may transport them. Buy local to minimize the risk.4. Plan your snacks. Natural food and homemade snacks can save you money and reduce impromptu plastic usage.5. Have off-peak timing for peak experiences. Early morning or late evening means fewer people, less traffic, and less CO2 emissions.6. Roll down your windows, don't blast your AC. The fresh air is good for you.7. Carpool with friends/family. If it is safe to do so.8. Solar charge your electronics. Off the grid doesn't have to mean no photos.9. Remember your reusables! Single-use plastics may be on the rise because of the pandemic, but you can still refill your water bottle at many faucets, and using our own cutlery instead of plastic ones when dining out is definitely our preferred option right now. Don't forget to carry your own hand sanitizer so you can stay safe whilst using communal facilities.10. Pick up one piece of trash. Unfortunately, not everyone leaves no trace. If everyone did this simple action then every day there would be 7.8 billion fewer pieces of trash littering
